Biafra: Why Nnamdi Kanu is anti-Igbo – APGA Chieftain, Enefe

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Anambra State, Ekene Enefe, has described the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu as anti-Igbo for saying there should be no election in Anambra State.

The IPOB leader had recently urged people of Anambra State and the South East generally to boycott elections in the region until Nigerian government grants his request for a referendum.

Reacting to Kanu’s declaration, Enefe, while speaking in Awka, the state capital, yesterday warned that should crisis erupt as a result of the no election declaration, Igbos will be the ones at lose.

Enefe noted that despite the marginalization being experienced by the South East, the Ohanaeze and other well meaning people of the region are working towards addressing the situation.

According to Enefe, “We should not shoot ourselves in the leg in the name of fighting for our freedom. Anybody who says that there will be no election in Anambra is definitely anti Igbo and that is working against our common interest.

“Anambra is still part and parcel of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and so we are still bound by the laws of the nation.

“Don’t forget that if a crisis erupts in Anambra resulting in non conduct of the election, the Federal Government has the constitutional right to impose a sole administrator on the state who might be a non Igbo. By then who is the loser?

“We must be told if that is the plan of the architects of ‘no election in Anambra State.”
