Biafran warlord, Col. Joseph Achuzia, has declared that apart from Igbos clamouring for Biafra, all Nigerians are agitating for one thing or the other.
He insisted that it was wrong for people to say Igbos are troublesome and the only set of Nigerians always complaining.
“It isn’t only the South-Easterners that are agitating. The Yorubas are agitating; the Middle-Belters are agitating; the North-Easterners are agitating. Now, the core Fulani youths are agitating, by saying they want to be left alone. Isn’t that agitation?
”As long as they are not using force as a means to arriving at their causes and quests, they should continue demanding for self-determination, it is their right. If I was younger, I would have joined. But at this age, for me to be talking of self-determination, what will I do with it? It can only benefit my children and people of their age who are feeling the pinch”, he told Daily Trust.
Asked if he still believes in Biafra, Achuzia responded: “Biafra will always be there. You cannot erase it. Federal Government tried by erasing the Bight of Biafra from the Nigerian map. But they could not erase it from the world map, as it still remains there.
“Bight of Biafra means Biafra waterside. In other words, it means there’s a mainland occupied by ethnic groups known as Biafra. So you cannot wish it away or erase it. We have a right to choose any name we want to define our territory”.
On his advice to Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on the quit notice saga, Achuzia said, “Osinbajo knows exactly what is going on. He knows exactly what he himself wants. If I were him, I will act according to the dictates of my mind. I won’t let the fact that I am now in a position where I am a beneficiary to forget what it was like when I was not a beneficiary.”
