Great Tension!!! Saraki Blows Hot, Exposes Prof. Itse Sagay And Sahara Reporters Publisher, Sowore, For Bribing CCT Chairman On Tape

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has accused the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, PACAC, Prof. Itse Sagay, and Sahara Reporters Publisher, Omoyele Sowore, of attempting to influence judgement against him, prior to the judgement of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.

Saraki, who made this allegation in a series of tweet on Sunday evening, through his Special Assistant on New Media, Bankole Omisore, stated that Sagay was caught on tape, admitting that he attempted to bribe the CCT Chairman, Umar Danladi.

Recall, that last week, the CCT led by Umar Danladi, acquitted and discharged Saraki on 18-count charges bordering on false declaration of assets.

Reacting to the judgement, Sahara Reporters had alleged that Saraki paid the sum of 20 million naira to Umar, to influence the judgement in his favour.

However, tweeting on Sunday, in response to the allegation, Saraki’s Aide, Omisore stated:

“I have evidence that @YeleSowore working with Prof Sagay, attempted to illegally influence CCT Judgement against @bukolasaraki BUT FAILED.

“Prof Sagay was caught on Tape admitting he approached the CCT Judge, to negatively influence case against @bukolasaraki to remove him as SP.

“We have actually approached the Judge about the delay, and he gave some reasons, mainly that the Lawyers prosecuting where…”

“Prof Sagay said “CCT Judge has lost control of his court” …. for not been able to stop @bukolasaraki from continuing as SENATE President.

“Prof Sagay’s attempt to use illegal means to get convictions, is a major reason most cases can’t stand in court of law.

“Fight against corruption is being rubbished by Prof Sagay. It’s ILLEGAL to try to get convictions by intimidating Judges to do your bidding.

“Fight against corruption must be predicated on RULE OF LAW, not sentiments, not media propaganda, double standards or guess work.

“Clearly, the CCT charges against @bukolasaraki was never about corruption or justice, was STRICTLY to remove him as President of Senate”, Omisore stated.
