Media giant, Television Continental, TVC, owned by the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has sacked 145 workers from its workforce.
It was gathered that Reporters of the company, located in various States in Nigeria, all arrived at the headquarters situated at the Magodo area of Lagos, for technical protest.
As at the time of filing this report, no reason has been disclosed to be behind the mass retrench of workers.
TVC is an arm of Continental Broadcasting Service, which also operates a Radio station, Radio Continental.
A TVC source, who escaped the mass sack said there was tension and sadness at the premises of the station as broadcasters who have served the station diligently were shown the way out.
Earlier in the day, tension built up as management of the station beefed up security at its premises, employing the services of policemen to man the gate.
Also, fierce-looking professional bouncers were seen at the station as they took strategic positions, ready to deal ruthlessly with any unruly sacked workers.
