Manchester United have held a minute’s silence in respect for the victims of the terror attack on the Manchester Arena on Monday night.
The Red Devils are preparing to face Ajax in the Europa League final on Wednesday as they bid to qualify through the back door for next season’s Champions League.
Jose Mourinho’s side paid their respect at the AON Training Complex in Carrington before their final work ahead of travelling to Stockholm. The club have also cancelled the pre-match press conference as a result of Monday’s attack, with 22 confirmed dead, according to the latest reports from the BBC. The Red Devils also posted a picture of the team together in silence with the caption, ‘#WeStandTogether.’
Captain Wayne Rooney also tweeted: “Devastating news this morning. Thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.” The Dutch giants also reached out to their opponents: “From Amsterdam with love to Manchester. Our thoughts are with the victims and the loved ones of those affected.”
