EXCLUSIVE!!! Fearless Fayose Takes Over Campaign Office, Explains Why He Suddenly Woke Up, Expelled PDP Out Of Ekiti

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has debunked the news making rounds, that he has finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2018 Ekiti Gubernatorial election.

In an exclusive interview, on Tuesday afternoon, his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, stated that: “Fayose still remains in the PDP, until the outcome of the Supreme Court judgement.”

Recall, that on Tuesday, the news had gone viral that Fayose had removed the logo of the PDP from his campaign office in the State, situated at Olora junction, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti.

It was reported that the one-storey building was repainted white, with every insignia of PDP, completely erased.

Before now, the building had Fayose’s picture embossed on a PDP logo, with the inscription: “Fayose Our Leader, Architect of Modern Ekiti.”

However, the emblem of the PDP was missing from a new billboard installed by the Governor, close to the gate of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

The new billboard with Fayose’s portrait, reads: “Ekiti 2018: Support Continuity, Fayose Leads, We Follow. Again, It’s Going To Be 16-0.”

Similarly, mini signposts mounted on Ado-Ikere road, which bored the logo and name of PDP alongside Fayose’s name, have been removed.

They were replaced with ones without the PDP’s name and logo, but with Fayose’s picture and the statement: “Ni 2018, E Standby”, meaning, “My People, Be on Standby in 2018.”

Reacting to the development, Olayinka in an exclusive telephone interview, informed Post-Nigeria that: “Here in Ekiti, we are thinking ahead. We won’t be messed up like the spoilers messed them up in Ondo. We Stand by Fayose.

“For the records, Fayose is not contesting for any political office. The one storey building that was used by PDP as a Secretariat, is owned by Fayose. It is his property. It never belonged to PDP. Fayose has the right to take over his property that was freely given to PDP as Secretariat.’’

He added: “PDP doesn’t have property in Ekiti State. Fayose is taking the right decision to eject PDP out of his personal building. The Ekiti Governor will never belong to the same party with Ali Modu-Sheriff.’’

He further explained that the uncertainty hanging over PDP, was responsible for the Governor’s action.

“Fayose does not want to be caught unawares. Nobody knows how the PDP factional crisis will end. It will be suicidal for him to wait till the end of litigation at the Supreme Court.”

Recall, that the embattled National Chairman of the PDP, Ali Modu-Sheriff, had told Fayose to leave the party, if he was no longer comfortable.

“We are moving on with the determination to re-position the party. We are not interested in the funding of the party from the Governors.

“They are free to leave if they want to, especially Wike and Fayose”, Sheriff had said.
