The governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha said he was overvalued to be governor, but rather the president of Nigeria. He made this confession after six years as governor.
Okorocha, speaking to reporters from Owerri yesterday, said he prefers to be president of Nigeria rather than being a state governor.
The governor quickly began to believe that he did not intend to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election if Buhari decides to renew.
“The governor does not fit to me. What I have is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I will not challenge Buhari,” Okorocha said.
It would be recalled that Oborocha had previously been a presidential candidate in the Action Alliance Party and was a presidential candidate at the All Progress Congress (APC) national convention that produced President Muhammadu Buhari as a candidate for the presidency, APC during the 2015 general election.
While commenting on his victory against the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, he had declared the PDP, lost the 2015 elections in Imo State because Emeka Ihedioha
“took” the ticket .
Okorocha, who was quoted in a statement by his secretary-general of the press, Sam Onwuemeodo, said:
“Again, we decided not to react to the constant media attacks of Chief Ihedioha against Governor Okorocha because we discovered that it gives foreigners the wrong character. The impression that they are still relevant in Imo’s policy, when in reality they have all gone into political forgetfulness. “
“The fact is that Chief Ihedioha supported its growth in politics from 2003 to 2015 through the renunciation of name and that ugly development ended in 2015.”
“When he took the PDP ticket for the 2015 governor elections, everyone knew that the party had refused the necessary impact it would have done in this election.”
