How Female Pastor Threatened To Curse Members After Duping Them Of N2m In Lagos

A 41-year old female Bishop, Rev. Mrs Adline Ngozi of the Gods’ Bible Church in Lagos State was Wednesday charged before an Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for her alleged involvement in fraud and stealing.

The female clergy was alleged to have obtained the sum of N1 million each from two members of her congregation, Mrs Temitope Kadri and Dr. Mrs Ishaq Olanrewaju under the guise of investing in a five-year deposit scheme with an interest of N100, 000 every month.

According to PM Express, the victims allegedly fell into the trap and gave her the money since last year and were expecting the returns.

But to their utmost shock, they realized that the whole investment was a scam.

However, when the victims asked for return of their money, the Imo State-born clergy reportedly threatened to place a curse on them to scare them from demanding for the money.

The victims consequently reported the matter to the police at Idimu division.

Rev. Ngozi was then arrested and charged to court with fraud under the Criminal Code.

At the court sitting yesterday during her arraignment, she pleaded not guilty.

In her ruling, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.O.E Adeyemi granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The clergy was remanded in prison custody pending perfection of her bail terms.

The presiding magistrate adjourned the matter till 19 April 2017 for hearing.
