The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old suspect, Ezekiel Oyewole, for allegedly using a pair of scissors to stab a motor mechanic apprentice to death over a mobile phone battery.
Vanguard reports that the suspect, who is said to be a vulcanizer, is being currently detained at the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Iyaganku, for allegedly killing the 18-year-old apprentice, Saliman Rafiu, at Oke Kenera area, Ogbomoso, in Oyo State.
While confirming the incident, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the incident occurred Monday afternoon, when the deceased and the suspect, Ezekiel Oyewole, were fighting following allegation by the deceased that the suspect swapped his phone battery where they were both charging their phones.
