‘Naira to hit 500/$1′ — Twitter reacts to Buhari’s return
President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria on Friday, after a 49-day vacation in the UK, and social media is churning out greetings, expectations, and a review of his time away.
Nigerians on Twitter are particularly known for critical, yet hilarious remarks, every time the President returns from his travels across the world.
In 2015 and 2016, Buhari was always welcomed back home with the hashtag #BabaWhileYouWereAway, which is also being employed by some in 2017.
These are some of the reaction from Nigerians on Twitter:
#Babawhileyouwereaway Osinbajo didn’t fail you, he achieved relative peace in N/D, Continue AntiGraft war & strengthen our Naira pic.twitter.com/m50kldhAvi

Why does he still need “rest” after TWO MONTHS? Oga please resign and stop being a burden on the state. https://t.co/boGk4K7XY6

@haryourdailey @thecableng @ProfOsinbajo That’s against the constitution. He should resign as he’s unfit. Villa is not sick man’s home

I have no qualm with President Buhari’s return. My concern is that the economy may take a nosedive and Naira may hit 500 per Dollar.

It is only fair and patriotic that “President Buhari” derelicted in his duty by his health challenges, should honourably resign. Patriotism

#PresidentBuhari meant well for Nigeria. We can only help ourselves by supporting him. Meanwhile, more roles be given VP. #MrPresident
