We reported earlier today that the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, ruled that Ali Modu Sheriff is the legitimate chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after a 3-man panel of justices delivered judgment on the PDP leadership tussle between Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi on Friday.
While reacting to the ruling, influential PDP chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode, who has often been critical of Modu Sheriff’s struggle to be the party’s National Chairman, mocked the judgment, calling it a victory for President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Minister of Aviation via his twitter handle, @realFFK, wrote; “The decision by the Court of Appeal in PH to recognize Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the Nat. Chairman of the PDP is a victory for @MBuhari.
“The C of A decision is absurd. Its time for us to gut the PDP, leave its carcass for the treacherous mole called Sheriff and form a new party.”
