Northern youths resident in Anambra State have backed the candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) in the forthcoming governorship election, Mr Godwin Ezeemo.
The youths assured the governorship candidate of their support, citing the numerous developmental strides the industrialist turned politician has brought in the state, which they said have been of immense benefit .
The leader of the group, Habib Usman Katsina who mobilised members of his group to the PPA Secretariat in Awka described Ezeemo as an honest and generous man with a large heart who has genuine plans for the citizens of the state.
“Ezeemo is a man of integrity whose ideology we strongly believe in. This is a man who has several investments abroad but decided to bring them down to his state to assist in its development.
“This man has engaged not less than 2,000 youths in the state, irrespective of their tribe. He has the youths at heart and if he becomes governor, he would do more for them,” he said.
He called on other youths and indeed the entire electorate in the state to vote massively for him, assuring that they would never regret their actions.
Earlier, the gubernatorial candidate, Chief Godwin Ezeemo, while presenting his 8-point contract with the Anambra youths, said he has always carried the youths along in his programmes, including the choice of a typical youth as his running mate.
He said he had been holding town hall meetings with the youths where they were given opportunity to freely express their views, make inputs and ask questions where necessary.
“These meetings which are held periodically, serve as checks and balances to ensure that we don’t derail from our set goals and objectives for the state,” he noted.
According to the PPA flagbearer, Anambra belong to the youths because they have greater stake in the state, saying he would want them to succeed more than he did.
“Anambra State belong to them more than us. In the next ten years, maybe, I will retire but they still have lots of years to impact their society,” he added.
He assured that, if voted to power, he would ensure steady and constant power supply so that investors in diaspora would be willing to invest in the state, while moribund industries in the state would be brought back to life.
“These steps of course, would generate numerous job opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths. We would also provide an enabling business environment for investments to thrive,” Ezeemo assured.
