Stop punishing Ekiti because Buhari dislikes Fayose – Fani-Kayode warns FG

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has weighed in on the seizure of Ekiti state allocation by the federal government.

Fayose yesterday said the Federal Government has started witch-hunting him for criticizing its alleged unwholesome policies.

He decried failure of the Federal Government to pay the allocation and budget support for the month of January for the state.

Fayose also alleged that the FG was using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to frustrate his on-going projects in the state through alleged frivolous petitions.

But in his reaction on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode said the Muhammadu Buhari-led government should stop punishing the masses because the President does not like Fayose.

He noted that, “The Federal Government’s refusal to release the monthly allocation to the Ekiti State Government is petty, vindictive and reprehensible.

“Simply because the courageous Ayo Fayose has become the rallying point of opposition against Muhammadu Buhari does not mean that the people of Ekiti state should suffer.

“I call on the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo to intervene in this matter expeditiously and release the Ekiti State Government’s allocation forthwith.”
