Atletico Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo, has branded Manchester United a “small team” explaining why forward, Antoine Griezmann might not be leaving the Vicente Calderon for Old Trafford.
The Spanish side appear determined to keep hold of the 25-year-old striker.
The Frenchman signed a contract that keeps him in the club until 2021.
The 25-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United since the summer.
Mourinho is preparing to tempt Atletico with an €80 million bid in the next summer.
But the Atleti President, Cerezo has dismissed Manchester United, who were recently named the world’s richest club, as “small team” when asked if the striker would be leaving for England.
He told Marca, “Manchester United? A small team.
“I believe in the contracts that people sign, and that goes for Diego Simeone and Griezmann.”
