The Vice-President of the Commonwealth Medical Association, CMA, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari for travelling abroad for medical treatment.
recalls that Buhari had gone on a 10-day vacation in the United Kingdom, UK and was due to be back on February 5.
His stay was, however, extended indefinitely due to health challenges.
The extension has since become a thing of debate among Nigerians.
But in his opinion, the Vice-President of the CMA told reporters in Benin, Edo State capital that Buhari had disgraced the nation for travelling outside the country for treatment.
He said, “It is a national shame that Buhari went to the UK when Nigeria has many competent ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists, as well as a National Ear Centre.
“Nigerians spend more than $1bn a year on medical tourism, an amount Buhari’s government promised to reduce,” he added.
