Earlier on, the Chairman and CEO of Innoson Group, Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma, accompanied by the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Program, Gen Paul Boroh and CEO of Innoson Kiara Academy, Endi Ezengwa had paid a courtesy visit to the Governor to discuss possible partnership with the state on Agriculture and Vehicle Manufacturing.
In his Presentation, Dr Chukwuma told the Governor that if the state can provide land for him, he was ready to set up a new vehicle manufacturing plant in other to utilize the skills of the graduants of Innoson Kiara Academy who had participated in the Presidential Amnesty Program. Dr Chukwuma also stated that the main reason he wanted to establish his new plant and Innoson Kiara Academy in Bayelsa was to engage Niger Delta Youths in meaningful activities that would bring out the best in them. During the training of the first batch of students at Innoson Kiara Academy under the Presidential Amnesty Program, Dr. Chukwuma had observed that most of these students who were ex agitators had a lot of skills and potentials they could offer Nigerians and if given the right platform could do wonders, therefore, he saw the need to establish a branch of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Plant and Innoson Kiara Academy in the Niger Delta Region so as to engage the Niger Delta Youths in productive activities.
In his remarks, Gov Dickson expressed his gratitude to Dr. Chukwuma for finding Bayelsa State worthy to invest in. He stated further that his government will give him every support and encouragement needed for the project to succeed. Gov Dickson also donated a portion of land in the New Industrial Site for the new Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Plant and Innoson Kiara Academy.
