2019: Okorocha’s stand personal, South-East will contest – Ex-minister Ogbaga

Former Minister for Power and Steel, Chief Goddy Ogbaga, on Tuesday, declared that people of the Southeastern part of Nigeria will run for Presidency come 2019.

Okorocha had advised the Southeast region to stop talking about an Igbo Presidency until after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in 2023.

His statement was swiftly backed by the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Mr. Osita Okechukwu.

‎However, the former minister stated that governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, did not speak for the people of South East.

Ogbaga called on Ndigbo to come together and be of one mind to enable them succeed in the project.

He said, “We will be ready to take a shot at the presidency in 2019. Nobody has ever vomited sugar already put into his mouth and that is the situation with Igbo presidency.

“All we need to do is to come together and form a bigger and stronger force that can make this possible.”
