A 26-year-old suspected burglar, Joseph Eke, who sneaked into a pool office at Azikiwe Road Aba, Abia State has commended the police for arresting him after snatching a N1.6 million cash from a woman. He said the commendation was necessary because he could resist the temptation to snatch the money when he saw her counting the money.
The suspect, who sneaked in and hid in the toilet during working hours, was apprehended by the Central Police Station Aba, following an intelligence report
Parading Joseph alongside 23 other suspected criminals, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Leye Oyebade restated the resolve of his command to deal decisively with criminals in the state.
He said the arrest of the suspects was made through the assistance of law-abiding citizens in the state.
Oyebade who commended the people for their confidence in the police, promised that the command would not relent at making Abia crime-free.
He said the command had put in place adequate security measures to safeguard schools in Abia, just as he appreciated the bankers forum, religious groups and tertiary institutions in the state for their support for the police.
The other suspects that were paraded were Okenwa Ogbonna, Obioma Goodluck, Victor Abarue, Valentine Oko, Ogbonna Ifegwu, Obioma Iwu, Uche uzoma, Philip Nwachukwu, Chimobi Kalu, David Jite, Ifegwu Kalu, Nkeiru John Iwuoha and Chukwu Ogbonnaya, Onyebuchi Kalu, Nnenna Sunday, Daniel Oriyo, Prince Kalu, Onyemaechi Agbam, Nwafor Henry, Chinedu Christopher,
Onyemaechi Emmanuel and Emeka Ikonne.
