The Niger Child Rights Protection Agency has arrested a 20-year-old man, identified as Ibrahim for alleged sexual harassment of two minors in the state.
The suspect, aka ‘Ibro’, was arrested in Randan Ruwa Bosso, in Bosso Local Government Area, LGA, of the state where the incident occurred.
The mother of the victims, Malama Mohammed Sailha, contacted the agency after she received a distress call from her eldest son, the Punch reports.
Sailha said the children were living with her ex-husband, Malam Kasim Adamu and his new wife in Minna, after they were divorced.
Speaking on the incident, the victims’ mother said, “I got a call from the senior boy who is 13 years who said he informed neighbours that the suspect called him to assist him wash his clothes.
According to her, the case has been reported to the Criminal Investigation Department, CID for investigation.
Describing the incident as `ungodly and disgusting,’ the DG appealed to parents to always look out for their children and wards and watch out for the the people they mingle with.
“The victims were treated after undergoing medical examinations,” Kolo said, lamenting that the children were not properly given parental care.
