Judge Orders FG To Grant Medical Attention To Injured IPOB Detainees [Photo]

The Federal government has been ordered to grant medical attention to members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who have been detained over various crimes. The leading defense counsel, Barrister Ejiofor has demanded that the Port-Harcourt Magistrate Court should order for the treatment of the Indigenous People Of Biafra activists, who were severely brutalised and molested by the Nigeria combined team of Force men.

The 38 IPOB family activists who were arraigned at Magistrate Court 5, were seen limping with severe injuries inflicted on them by the Nigeria Police and were left to suffer in pains at the State CID detention center without any form of treatment.

The prosecutor, Inspector Wilson Isaiah, stated that the accused were injured because, they were fighting to overthrow the Nigeria Government.

This was countered by the defense counsel, Barrister Ejiofor, who made the court to understand that the arrested Biafra activists were unarmed and nonviolent, but were brutalised and he has every evidence to show to the court.

Following the huge argument between the lead defending counsel and prosecutor, the presiding Judge, Sir S.D Andrew Jaja ordered that the injured detainees should be well treated, before the next court sittings.

The case was adjourned to 30th day of January 2017, for bail hearing.
