Adeu!!! Ex- Pillars goalkeeper, Ali Muhammad dies

Former Kano Pillars goalkeeper, Ali Muhammad has died at the age of 50 years.

The former Taraba FC goalkeeper trainer passed away on Monday at his house in Brigade Quarters in Kano City after a brief illness. He has since been buried, according to the Islamic rites in Kano.
Ali Zoof, as he is fondly called by his admirers during his days, joined Sai Masu Gida since its establishment in 1990 as a goalkeeper and he captained the club between 2000 and 2004.

• Club’s management condones with the family
The late Ali Muhammad during his playing time played with current chief Coach of Kano Pillars, Kabiru Baleria, head Coach of Junior Kano Pillars Fc Ahmad Garba Yaro Yaro, Technical adviser of Enugu Rangers FC Imama Amapkabo, Personal Assistant to the NFF President, Nasiru Jibrin, former Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba, former Kano State governorship candidate ANPP Alh. Al-Amin Ibrahim Little, Muhammad Musa among others.
The late Ali also played under notable Nigeria coaches which include Kadiri Ikhana (MON), Bitrus Bewarang, Oferu Okwonko, Ahmad Abdu Pele among others. He served under the Head Coach of Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf as a goalkeeper trainer at FC Taraba.
Meanwhile, Kano Pillars FC management, players, technical crew and fans have extended their condolence to the family of Muhammad.
The club’s media officer, Idris Malikawa said the football family in Kano was shocked when the news of Ali’s sudden death spread to the town and prayed for his soul to rest in Jannatul Fridaus.
