Mr Joseph Adeyemi, a local hunter in Ekiti State, has been arrested.
The man was arrested after allegedly shooting two of his colleagues while on a hunting expedition for wild swine in Ikole-Ekiti.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) a source, who craved anonymity, revealed that the hunters had gone on the expedition on Thursday when the incident happened.
According to the source, one of the victims, Bayo Oyegoke, was said to have died instantly after being shot while the other, Stephen Aroso, sustained gun-shot injury.
Another resident, who also spoke to NAN, said the deceased had five wives and some children whose number could not been ascertained.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Ekiti Police Command, Alberto Adeyemi, said the suspect had been arrested while investigation was on-going.
“The suspect who shot at fellow hunters has been arrested and investigation is going on now,’’ he said.
