JUST IN! Bloodbath In Adamawa as Fulani, Bachama Youths Clash; 50 Houses Burnt, Many Feared Dead.

An ethnic crisis has led to the death of two persons and 50 houses burnt down with many others with severe injuries after Fulani and Bachama youths clashed in

Adamawa state.

A serious disagreement between some Fulani and Bachama youths in Bunari village, northeast part of Adamawa state has left 2 persons dead, 50 houses razed down and many others with severe cuts & injuries.

It was gathered that the youths were fighting over a bar of soap between a Fulani youth and a Jenjo youth. An eyewitness said a Jenjo youth died in the initial fight.

As a result of that, Bachama youths staged a reprisal attack and lynched a Fulani youth. “Irked by the development, some Bachama youths went on reprisal attack and lynched the Fulani youth.

“Some Fulani youths then decided to attack the Bachamas, insisting that the matter is between Fulani and Jenjo which did not concern the Bachamas.” the eyewitness said.

After that, the Fulani youths attacked the Bachamas again leading to the burning of 50 houses in Bachama area. Not yet done, the Bachama youths alos slaughtered 20 cows belonging to the Fulani people & metted serious injuries on others who currently battling for their lives in various medical centers within.

“Both parties are threatening further violence and I want to appeal to government to take necessary measures to avert further clash”, said a resident.

Following the sad development, the chairman of Lamurde Local Government, Vrati Nzonzo, has visited the area and sued for peace. While receiving the village Head of Bunari, Jolly Jonah, and the leader of Fulani community in the area, Lamido Babiyo, called for peace and warned that government would not condone such reckless actions.

Adamawa Police Command spokesman, Othman Abubakar confirmed the incident, saying no arrest has been made yet.
