What happens when the one who promised to ‘protect and serve with integrity’ becomes the one who ends up taking your life? Such is the
case of an incident between a Nigerian policeman and a commercial bus driver, which resulted in the driver’s death.
According to a post shared by a facebook user Christiana Ekpiken, a trigger-happy policeman had reportedly fled from the scene of a crime after shooting the driver, in Lekki, Lagos state. Graphic picture of the driver who was left to bleed to death
Sharing the picture above, she wrote:
“This horrible scenario happened yesterday 16th of December along 1004 Lekki Express Road, Lagos. He was shot by a police officer in a patrol van chasing after him; probably because the driver didn’t stop while being chased.
“The said driver was harmless carrying passengers, yet he was shot by the police officer and immediately the officer noticed his death, he ran away with his team and caused serious accident with other nearby vehicles (eyewitness said).
” This is a shame and disgrace to the NIGERIAN POLICE FORCE FOR HAVING OFFICERS WHO LACK DISCIPLINE, STUPID TEMPERAMENT AND INABILITY TO APPREHEND SITUATIONS PROFESSIONALLY.”
