The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has claimed it has unmasked the characters behind the alleged concocted audio believe to be that of the state governor, Nyesom Wike.
A telephone conversation allegedly made between the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), recently hit the media.
The audio claims Wike was trying to rig the recently concluded legislative rerun in the state.
He was heard threatening to collect his money back from an INEC official, who was backing out of the plan and allegedly vowed to kill him.
However, a statement by the State Chairman of the PDP, Bro. Felix Obuah claimed the major character behind the audio was Magnus Abe.
The party claimed Abe had boasted on a radio programme a day before the audio was posted, alerting the general public of the audio.
The statement which was signed by Obuah’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, described the audio posting as extremely ridiculous.
It added that when ”the false, defectively conceptualized audio against the Governor came up on Sahara Reporters a day after Magnus Abe first broke the news, it became very clear that Magnus Abe was behind it.
The PDP said it will hold Magnus Abe and other APC leaders who falsely concocted and manufactured the audio responsible for the consequences of their action.
The PDP Chairman, who described the audio as shameful and condemn-able, added that the APC was instigating youths in the State to take up arms against the government of Rivers State and continue to create a state of insecurity.
The PDP Chairman noted that the insistence by the so-called APC protesters that the two police officers implicated in the killings and snatching of election results in the just concluded Re-run Election must not be transferred out of the State, was a confirmation of the conspiracy between the APC and the police, Army and SARS to subvert the election process.
