5 possible candidates for 2019 presidential election

5 possible candidates + running mates APC may consider in 2019

President Buhari may not seek second term in office in 2019 – APC may be forced to consider these 5 combinations Share on Facebook Share on Twitter While Nigeria will hold its next general election in 2019, it seems politicians have already begun struggle for the presidential seat. The national caucus of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) comprising serving and ex governors, the National Assembly leadership, and selected members of the national executive of the party has recently endorsed President Buhari to run for a second term in office.

Some politicians believe the incumbent leader of the nation must re-contest in 2019 because a single term of four years would not be enough for him to adequately tackle the fight against corruption and insecurity in Nigeria. Obviously, the race for the 2019 polls is on in the APC and it involves the CPC/ACN/ANPP blocs who are in control of the party’s national executive apparatus.

Below are 5 ticket combinations that the APC may be made to consider in 2019:

1. Nasir El-Rufai/Remi Tinubu

2. Aminu Tambuwal/Kayode Fayemi

3. Nasir El-Rufai/Kayode Fayemi

4. Rabiu Kwankwaso/Rotimi Amaechi

5. Nasir El-Rufai/Adams Oshiomole

However, as the APC is busy settling personal issues and internal disputes as well as preparing for 2019 presidential poll, the country’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party has asked Buhari to constitute a panel that will probe the violence that characterised the Rivers state rerun election.
