The task of selecting players from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for January’s international friendly against Egypt, will fall on Super Eagles assistant coaches, Salisu Yusuf and Imama Amapakabo, according to Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr.
The friendly, which will serve as preparation for the Afcon-bound Pharaohs, is scheduled to be played in Dubai; on a yet to be announced date, and it will be executed by a predominantly home based side, Rohr stated in his post match press parlay after last weekend’s victory over Algeria.
Though Nigeria will not be in Gabon for the continent’s biggest football tournament, the 63-year-old German tactician said he’d be in the Central African Country to monitor his team’s World Cup qualifying group opponents; Cameroon and Algeria.
Nigeria host the Indomitable Lions on August 27, next year, in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
