From July this Year Nigerians will need Visas to Enter Ghana
Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama has said that citizens from Nigeria and other African countries must apply for visas before being allowed entry into Ghana.
Mahama made this statement during his State of the Nation address earlier this month.
The President said visas will be issued at the entry point and would attract an option of 30 days stay in the country.
This policy will take off from July before they will be allowed to enter Ghana.
“With effect from July this year, we will be allowing citizens of AU Member States to enter our country and obtain visas on arrival with the option to stay for up to thirty days and experience what our country has to offer,” said President Mahama in his address.
“This measure, with time, should stimulate air travel, trade, investment and tourism.”
Citizens from only 15 African countries, mostly from the ECOWAS member countries including Nigeria, currently enjoy free entry into Ghana.
