A POLICE officer has reportedly been shot at the US Capitol Visitor Centre.
US Senate sources told Sky News workers have been instructed to “shelter in place”.
Later repots suggest the gunman has been captured, with one police officer wounded.
The US Congress, housed within the building, is on lockdown along with the nearby White House.
The Capitol Police are expected to issue a statement soon.
