Ile-Ife transport union leaders have reportedly narrated the circumstances surrounding the death of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, while condemning the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade, have sparked condemnation in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

According to reports published on September 13, 2026, Oyeyemi was allegedly killed during a dispute linked to the control and management of a motor park in the ancient city. However, the full account of the incident remains subject to official investigation.

Transport Union Leaders Condemn Incident

The reported killing has drawn attention to tensions surrounding motor park management in Ile-Ife. Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed security agencies to investigate the incident, arrest those responsible and restore peace in affected motor parks.

The governor also announced plans to reintroduce a Park Management System across Osun State, saying the initiative would help address disputes over the administration of motor parks and garages.
