Umahi Attends SHEKINAH’S Traditional Marriage Ceremony IN Uburu

The Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Umahi, CON, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, joined family members, friends and well-wishers at the traditional marriage ceremony of his niece, Shekinah Obi-Umahi, and Shokpe Adebayo Ayinde in Uburu, Ebonyi State.

Shekinah is the daughter of Maj. (Rtd.) Pastor Obi Abel Umahi, DSc, OFR, while Shokpe is the son of Commodore NN (Rtd.) Deacon Adebayo Abidemi Ayinde.

The Minister attended the ceremony alongside his wife, H.E. Chief Mrs. Rachel Umahi, fondly known as Ogoo Nwanyi. They joined other members of the family in celebrating the union and wishing the newly married couple a beautiful, peaceful and fulfilling life together.

The ceremony was marked by warmth, rich cultural traditions and joyful celebrations, bringing together prominent personalities, family members and friends who came to share in the happiness of the occasion.

The marriage also beautifully celebrated the bond between two cultures, as an Igbo bride and Yoruba groom came together in love and family, a demonstration of the unity and diversity that define Nigeria.
