Ikechukwu Ezenagu, popularly known as Muomiri Afuluanya, has been remanded at the Amawbia Correctional Centre following an order by the Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka.
The order was issued by Justice Jude Obiora after Ezenagu was brought before the court from a hospital where he had reportedly been receiving medical attention.

During the proceedings, counsel to the defendant, Barrister Kingsley Awuka, applied for bail on health grounds and further requested that his client be allowed to remain in the hospital pending the next adjourned date.
However, the prosecuting counsel, Barrister Tobechukwu Nweke, opposed the application, urging the court to remand the defendant while the motion for bail is being considered.
In his ruling, Justice Obiora stated that a hospital is not a constitutionally recognized facility for the detention of a defendant. He subsequently ordered that Ezenagu be remanded at the Amawbia Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned to June 19, 2026, for further proceedings.
