Nigeria’s Petrol, Diesel Are Still Being Subsidised — Dangote

A Dangote Group official has confirmed that the Dangote Refinery is currently selling petrol and diesel at subsidised rates, with the ex-depot price of for petrol being below the competitive market price.

The official urged the Nigerian government to completely end fuel subsidies to reflect true consumption, noting that the company is bearing the cost.

The refinery claims it is subsidising products by charging below international market rates

The ex-depot petrol price was recently adjusted to following a surge in global crude prices, with potential for further adjustments based on the market.

Despite local refining, prices remain influenced by international market trends, and the subsidised rates are aimed at reducing the burden on citizens

The official emphasized that full removal of the subsidy is necessary to stabilize the market and stop price manipulation.
