The Bodo–Bonny Road stands as a defining infrastructure achievement in the Niger Delta, delivered under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and the supervision of the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Umahi, CON, providing a long-awaited connection between Bonny Island and the mainland of Rivers State.
For many years, movement to and from Bonny relied almost entirely on water transport, often slow, costly, and uncertain. Today, that reality has changed with the emergence of a modern road and bridge that offer safer, faster, and more dependable access.

The completion of this project goes beyond convenience. It significantly reduces travel time and transportation costs, improves logistics for industries operating in the area, and enhances the daily lives of residents and host communities. This project has unlocked new economic opportunities, strengthen security presence, and supporting the critical oil and gas operations that drive a large part of the region’s economy.
What makes this development even more striking is its emotional impact. The new look of the Bodo–Bonny Road is truly breathtaking. For many, it is not just a road but a powerful symbol of progress and renewed hope in action. Seeing a well-built, modern road where there was once only water and isolation brings a deep sense of pride, relief, and fulfillment to the people.
A long-standing dream has now taken shape, showcasing a clear commitment to bridging gaps, opening up communities, and improving livelihoods across the Niger Delta.
