A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the scheduled arraignment of Nasir El-Rufai to April 23.
El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, is facing a three-count charge filed by the Department of State Services (DSS) over the alleged unlawful interception of a telephone conversation.

The charges reportedly stem from comments he made during a television interview.
The court had earlier fixed Wednesday, February 25, for his arraignment. However, proceedings could not go on as the former governor was not produced in court.
Counsel to the prosecution, Oluwole Aladedoyin, informed the court that El-Rufai is currently in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in connection with a separate investigation.
“Unfortunately, the defendant is with the ICPC, and I do not know how far the investigation with the ICPC has gone,” Aladedoyin told the court.
The charges against the former governor are said to involve an alleged breach of the Cybercrimes Act.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to April 23 for arraignment.
