The leadership of the Labour Party (LP) in Ebonyi State has urged its members not to leave its fold following the exit of the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi.
It maintained that the party remains unshakable in the state.

LP said its structure remains intact and formidable, adding that its leadership is committed to ensuring that the interests of its members are protected with credibility.
The party’s state chairman, Chief Henry Udeh and secretary, Comrade.Igiri Innocent, urged other politicians with ulterior motives to steer clear of the party’s activities and called on the faithful to avoid panicking.
“Let me call on our members not to panic following Mr Peter Obi’s exit from our great party. Let me also call on our members to resist attempts by enemies of good governance who would come with temptation to lure them into their political party because of Mr Obi’s exit from the party.
Let’s continue to advocate for solidarity among the masses, freedom of speech, enhanced security, and improved governance. The Labour Party is not ignorant of the oppressors of the people. It would continue to be a formidable opposition to ensure that the masses deserve to be governed with dignity and respect.
“We are together in this movement with our great leaders.
I want to reaffirm the stability of our activities despite Mr Peter Obi’s defection to the African Democratic Party (ADC), as well as pledge continued support for good governance in the state and across the country.
It is worth recalling that since Mr Peter Obi’s departure from the Labour Party to the ADC, some prominent members of the party in the State have also resigned from the party.
