APC Chieftain Demands Sack of Soldier Who Confronted FCT Minister Wike

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has demanded the immediate dismissal of the soldier who clashed with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

The incident occurred when the minister and some top officials of the FCTA were stopped by an armed soldier from entering a disputed piece of land in Abuja.

The officer, who refused to identify himself, insisted that he was acting on superior orders.

His refusal led to a tense moment between the minister and the soldier, as Wike questioned his authority to obstruct a federal inspection.

Reacting to the development, Igbokwe took to Facebook to condemn the soldier’s conduct and demanded that the military take swift disciplinary action.

He wrote, “Who is this man in uniform? Of what meat is he fed? Who is beating the drum for him? This is unacceptable? His uniform has to be removed.”

The APC chieftain described the incident as a direct challenge to constituted authority and a dangerous precedent if not addressed.

Meanwhile, Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, alleged that a former Chief of Naval Staff instructed the soldier to prevent the minister from accessing the land.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army has yet to issue any statement regarding the altercation.
