The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied the allegation that death threats were issued to Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and members of his family by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The IPOB, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful said the purported allegation trending online that Kanu threatened to wipe off the Obasanjo family is a fabrication of Artificial Intelligence put together by some agents of the Nigerian government.
Powerful also stated that the purported allegation is an induced propaganda by the government and some of their collaborators in the United Kingdom who are desperate to continue holding onto power.
Restating Kanu’s respect for the former president and elder statesman, Powerful said the present administration is already drowning in shame and has only resorted to releasing such content to its “semi-illiterate audience” to create undue distraction.
He said, “This fresh hoax follows closely on the heels of last week’s fabricated video where the same criminals made it appear as if Mazi Kanu declared himself a god who decides who lives or dies.
“When propaganda becomes this desperate, it can only mean one thing. The enemies of Biafra have lost the argument. They have lost the case. They have lost the moral ground. The only weapon left to them is insult to public intelligence,” Powerful stated.
He further pointed out that Kanu has always had a strong regard for leaders like Obasanjo, Shehu Shagari, President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, and the former vice president Yemi Osinbajo and that the attempt by some government agents to sponsor such a lie against him is not just disgraceful but a show of the level of collapse in the system of government.
“The timing of this AI fabrication is very telling. It appears the Nigerian Government and their British handlers are jittery that a respected figure like President Obasanjo may soon call for the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Their solution is to rush out a poorly-edited video to poison the air before the truth overwhelms their narrative,” he added.
Powerful further challenged the Nigerian government to quit all games and present to the people, a valid and extant law under which Nnamdi Kanu is being prosecuted.
He also queried the subsisting legal charge which qualifies such as an offence in Nigeria today.
He pointed out that until all the aforementioned his made public Kany will not enter his defence for the terrorism charge at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
