Ebonyians, both home and abroad, have pledged solidarity with the Trek-a-thon hero, Jeremiah Obaji Nworu, who has been trekking for the past week from Lagos to Ebonyi State to thank the state governor, Francis Nwifuru, for restoring peace in Effium.
Nworu, who hails from Effium in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, said he thought it wise to honor the state governor, who brought peace to his community after years of conflict.
Initially, people criticized Nworu for embarking on the adventure, which they termed “foolish and clout-chasing.” However, without relenting, Nworu has trekked the longest distance so far and is almost in Ebonyi State.
Expressing solidarity, organizations, stakeholders, and influencers in Ebonyi State have shown their support for the hero. Some of the influential personnel in the state who have supported Nworu so far include; High Chief Asaga Christian Nwali (Okpata Ozua Oha 1), Hon. Maria Ude Nwachi aka Afikpo Chic, Madam Uju Peter Akabueze (CEO Solister Industrial Machines), High Chief Emeka Nweke (Secretary Great Elite of Ezekuna), Sylvan Nonso Chukwu ( an international business Man), Dr. Ofornagolu Alieze (CEO Alpha Mark Business Investment Ltd Lagos), Chief Ugbala Kingsley Onwa (Ezekuna).
Hon. Maria Ude Nwachi, an Ebonyi-born influencer supported the hero with a huge cash gift, stating that it took a lot of courage, determination, and zeal to embark on such a journey.
Similarly, the CEO of C-Sagas Charity Foundation, Chief Asaga, gave Nworu a significant sum of cash, encouraging him to continue without heeding naysayers.
Mrs. Uju Peters also gave him a substantial amount, describing him as a man who understands the impact of gratitude.
The Ohaukwu Local Government Chairman expressed solidarity, promising to be present to welcome Nworu when he arrives in Ebonyi State. Other Ebonyians have also shown great support for Nworu throughout his adventure.
Some others who have supported the adventure include; An Ebonyi born telecom expect/ security consultant, Engr Ekuma Omenna; Paul Ikechukwu
(CEO Tipson Telecom service Ltd/ Gadgets & Equipment Hall).
Also, the CEO of Timpson Communication promised to gift Nworu a car while an Ebonyi Real Estate Billionaire, Daniel Mattbolin, the MD/CEO Alphamark Business Investment Ltd and a leading 21st-century Real Estate Developer, gave him One Plot Of Land In Lagos State
Receiving all these supports while still on his way, Nworu said;
”I only started this journey to thank my Governor, I never knew it would be something huge like this.”
He thanked all his supporters stating that the love, support and encouragement he has been getting has kept him going since the start of his adventure.
Nworu is expected to arrive in Ebonyi State on Sunday, September 7, and many residents are eagerly anticipating his arrival, ready to receive him with great joy.
