ABIA 2O27: As Disgruntled Political Vultures Regroup, Brandish Clannishness As Shield For Irrelevance In Abia

Written Davidson Chijioke Ogbonnaya

As the sun sets on the era of political opportunism and failed governance in Abia State, the political ghosts of Okezie Ikpeazu, Paul Ikonne, ACB Agbazuere, Erondu Jnr, and Christopher Enweremadu, have clannishly begun to crawl out from the shadows of public disgrace.

Like vultures circling a carcass, these discredited men, incapable of hiding their monumental failures, have chosen the cheap weapon of clannish sentiment in a desperate bid to resurrect their expired political lives ahead of 2027.

Their frustrations, shrouded in clannish sentiments, occasioned by the recent 2027 re-election endorsement of Governor Alex Chioma Otti by Hon. Mascot Alex Ikwechegh, popularly known as (Onye Ocha Na Aba) has conspicuously heightened, thus, creating an irresistible avenue for a proper response as no individual has the monopoly of harassment, tantrums and unhealthy rivalry in a political milieu.

Let’s call them what they are: architects of decay, patrons of mediocrity, and champions of underdevelopment. Their collective record in office is a woeful catalogue of unfulfilled promises, looted opportunities, and the deliberate strangulation of Aba—the very city that gave them political relevance.

Okezie Ikpeazu, whose 8 years as governor turned Abia into a subject for national ridicule and embarrassment, should be the last to show his face in any political discussion. Under his watch, roads collapsed, investors fled, funds were misappropriated, salaries and pensions were heavily owed and Aba, the city he swore to uplift was reduced to a glorified ghetto. How about the introduction of the DIRTY slogan “Emelagi” which informed unimaginable corruption, nepotism and immeasurable looting of our collective patrimony within the civil service and government agencies in Abia, not forgetting the unpardonable embarrassment to Abia women wherein he promised to allocate five hundred to pregnant women who delivers in government hospitals. What moral ground does he stand on to surreptitiously sponsor clannish attacks?

Paul Ikonne, the eternal errand boy of Abuja politics, should first explain his long list of federal nothingness before joining any political conversation. As “NALDA” chairman Ikonne’s scorecard was zero, as one can hardly pinpoint any tangible result his fruitless superintendence as NALDA boss brought to Abia at the time. Where is your scorecard, sir? Aside the manner you nefariously demolished people’s houses and hotels, rendering thousands of Abians homeless, during your infamous reign as Commissioner For Lands in Abia.

ACB Agbazuere, a man who mistook governance for sycophancy, intimidation and harassment. A man who displayed ostentation, threw our currency into the air, during his time as empty chief of staff, abused our currency he embezzled without stress and got suspended, now wishes to be taken seriously?.. Little wonder he was unanimously, disgraced, rejected and retired by his people in the last election.

Erondu Jnr., a classic political featherweight and a butterfly who thinks himself a bird, a man who became an emergency billionaire through merciless looting of our collective patrimony and contributed nothing beyond recycled slogans and hooliganism should shamelessly retire to his political hut. All thanks to the EFCC for adding him to the list of heartless kleptomaniacs.

Together, they now rally behind ethnic chauvinism, pretending to defend a clan they abandoned during their reigns of misrule. But the people of Aba are not fools. They know the difference between those who talk politics and those who deliver politics.

Look no further than Hon. Mascot Alex Ikwechegh—a man who has, within just two years, done what these expired clannish sadists and political foetuses couldn’t achieve in two decades. While they watched Ohazu Road rot into a swamp of shame, Hon. Ikwechegh brought federal presence and attention to fix it. Who truly loves the people? Who truly serves the city? In line with government proceedings, Why not wait until the capital component of the 2024 budget is implemented, so the agency can transform the road you heartlessly abandoned for decades??.

Lugubriously, their sudden, incoherent outbursts and juvenile tantrums are nothing but the scream of displaced hooligans who have seen their influence irreversibly crushed by results-driven leadership. Their insult against Mascot Alex Ikwechegh is a testament to their political impotence—nothing more. Abi no be so??

Instead of sponsoring online miscreants, why not field a candidate and meet us on the battlefield of ideas in 2027? Or are they too scared to confront reality? Or simply being incurably docile??

Let it be established that we do not engage in social media theatrics. We do not trade in noise. We deliver results. We play “REAL POLITIK” . Our projects are on ground, our people are being empowered in line with our blueprint, and our vision is clear.

Why the needless clannish drums of political war against those fixing what you couldn’t fix during your infamous reign?? How else can on define shamelessness and inferiority complex??

To the good people of Enyimba City: disregard the baseless vituperations of disgruntled amorphous elements. They are bitter because they are irrelevant. They scream because they are forgotten. And they cry clannishness because development has no tribe, no clan, no cabal—only results.

Interestingly, as 2027 approaches, We dare the chauvinists: present your candidate, if you’re man enough. No more shadows. No more proxies. Let’s face each other—one-on-one—in the arena of political ideas and delivery.
