Atiku Blasts Tinubu Over Mosque Killing In Nigeria

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the killing of at least 27 worshippers in a Katsina State mosque on Tuesday by suspected bandits.

In a post on his X account on Wednesday, Atiku described the killings as reaching an “epidemic level,” warning that insecurity has become a daily reality across many parts of the country.

He said villages were under attack, highways had become unsafe, and even places of worship were no longer spared from bandit assaults.

Atiku accused the Tinubu administration of acting as if nothing was wrong, remaining detached from the suffering of Nigerians.

He called on the Federal Government to prioritise the protection of lives and property as its foremost responsibility.

His statement, “The wanton killings of innocent Nigerians have reached the epidemic level.

“Only on Tuesday, in Katsina, at least 27 innocent worshippers were massacred inside a mosque by marauding bandits during morning prayers.

“This attack was not just against a community; it was an assault on our collective humanity.

“These killings are no longer isolated incidents; they have become a daily reality in the North and across the nation.

“Villages are being sacked, highways are unsafe, and even sacred places of worship are not spared. Yet, the current government continues to operate as if nothing is wrong, remaining detached from the anguish of ordinary Nigerians.

“The government is aloof and in denial of the worsening security situation. It is about hightime that the protection of the lives and properties of the average citizen became a primary responsibility of government,” he concluded.
