Governor Sacks Two Commissioners

The governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum on Thursday sacked two of his commissioners.

The governor in a swift move also announced the appointment of replacements for the two commissioners relieved of their duties.

In a statement issued by Dauda Iliya, the spokesperson for the governor, the commissioners affected by the cabinet reshuffling by Zulum are those for Environment, and Intergovernmental and Special Duties.

Zulum, however, appreciated the outgoing commissioners for their services to his cabinet and the entire people of Borno State. He also wished them well in their future endeavours.

In a swift move, Zulum named Mohammed Habib and Ibrahim Hala Hassan as the new commissioners to fill the vacant roles.

He also appointed Yusuf Balami, a seasoned scholar in Educational Psychology as the new Executive Chairman of the Borno State Secondary Education Board.

“I urge Professor Balami to apply his wealth of experience in education both as an administrator and academician to improving the quality of secondary education in the state,” the governor said.

He added that the names and credentials of all the new appointees have been forwarded to the Borno State House of Assembly for onward confirmation.
