In a fiery response to former Nigerian international Brown Ideye’s public claims of unpaid bonuses, Enyimba FC has issued a strong rebuttal, revealing details of the player’s earnings and performance during his stint at the club.
“We paid you ₦1 million monthly salary, lodged you in five-star hotels at ₦65,000 per night, and flew you by air for away matches,” the club said in a statement.
“And how did you repay us? By scoring just 5 goals.”
The response comes after Ideye took to social media to express disappointment over unpaid entitlements, accusing the club of neglecting its obligations.
Enyimba’s statement, however, painted a different picture, suggesting that the club had gone above and beyond to accommodate the veteran striker — with little to show in return.
