Mrs. Amaechi Pays Condolence Visit to Late President Buhari’s Family in Daura, Katsina State

Her Excellency, Dame Judith Chibuike Amaechi, former First Lady of Rivers State, wife of former Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, and Founder of the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, in Daura, Katsina State.

The late President Buhari was a former boss and political ally of Dame Amaechi’s husband, who served under him as Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation.

Dame Judith Amaechi was accompanied on the solemn visit by a distinguished delegation of women leaders and spouses of notable statesmen, including Hajiya Aisha Abubakar Malami, wife of the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice; Mrs. Dan-Ali, wife of Brigadier General Mansur Dan-Ali (Rtd), former Minister of Defence; Mrs. Maimuna Mustafa Shehuri, wife of the former Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development; Mrs. Hauwa Suleiman; and Hon. Nancy Stephen Ijaopo.

The visit was marked by prayers, heartfelt tributes, and words of comfort to the grieving family, honoring the legacy and service of the late President Buhari, a statesman widely respected for his leadership and patriotism.
