Finally, Imo CP Orders Probe Of Officer Seen Shooting In Viral Video

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma has condemned in strong terms the conduct of police officers seen in a viral video shooting sporadically and physically assaulting a civilian.

CP Danjuma ordered a thorough investigation in the said incident to identify the officers involved and administer the requisite punishment according to the code of conduct of the police force.

According to the Commands Spokesperson Henry Okoye, the commands has zero tolerance to any form of high-handed actions from officers of the command and promised to communicate on updates regarding the matter in due course.

He said: “The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to identify the personnel responsible for the act, for necessary disciplinary action. Further updates on the matter will be communicated in due course.

“The Command wishes to reiterate its zero tolerance for any form of highhandedness and remains committed to upholding professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights.”

In a viral video observed by our reporter, an alleged Police Officer, shot in the air in a crowd of people in the centre of a road and afterwards seen struggling to gain possession and control of his rifle while in combat with an unidentified person.

What followed was more shots and a thorough manhandling of the unidentified person by other officers at the scene.
