A respected clergyman from Abia State, Rev John Ndukwe of the Assemblies of God Church, has called on former Deputy Governor Sir Ude Oko Chukwu to put an end to what he described as “bitter and destructive politics” against the Senator representing Abia North, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
Addressing journalists in Nkporo, his hometown, Pastor Ndukwe accused Ude Oko Chukwu of sponsoring persistent blackmail campaigns against Senator Kalu through known political actors such as Chidiebere Uwagwu and Chima Agbaeze.
“Ude Oko Chukwu should remember that Orji Uzor Kalu made him who he is politically,” the pastor stated firmly.
“He gave him the party ticket that brought him to power, and that only happened after a Catholic bishop personally appealed to Senator Kalu on his behalf. Today, that same man is repaying good with evil.”
The cleric also praised Senator Kalu for the developmental strides he has brought to Nkporo and its environs.
“He gave us tarred roads, electrification projects, and appointed our sons into top positions. Ude Oko Chukwu has done nothing close to that except fuel division and confusion,” he said.
Expressing his disappointment, Pastor Ndukwe added, “As an Nkporo son, I feel deeply saddened. He worked against Senator Kalu during the last election and is still sponsoring attacks. That is not fair. He should leave Orji Uzor Kalu alone.”
Pastor Ndukwe urged political actors in the region to embrace maturity, gratitude, and peace, warning that bitterness only breeds division.
“Politics should never blind us to truth and gratitude,” he concluded.
