BREAKING!!! Again, Emegha Launches Heavy Blow On Ebonyi PDP, Snatches ex-Chairman

The relentless efforts of the Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, to unite all critical stakeholders of the State around the ruling party ahead of 2027 has continued to yield positive results.

In line with his track-records, he has successfully convinced the former Ebonyi State Chairman of the People’s Democratic party, (PDP), Hon. Tochukwu Okorie, to defect from the opposition party into the APC.

Chief Emegha had for months been wooing the last elected Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State to join other patriotic and selfless stakeholders of the state to rally support for our performing Governor, His Excellency Rt.Hon. Prince Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and consolidate the gains of our democracy under his people -oriented administration.

After months of selfless reflections and considerations, Hon. Tochukwu Okorie has gallantry tendered his resignation from the People’s Democratic party (PDP), and subsequently announced his readiness to defect to APC, and support the re-election of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and all APC candidates come 2027.

Okorie’s decision to leave PDP and to join APC has dealt a big blow to the irredeemably perforated opposition in the State.

Born in Mgbom Okposi, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the State, Hon. Tochukwu Okorie was elected the Ebonyi State Chairman of the main opposition PDP in October 2021.

In his resignation letter dated July 4,2025, which he personally delivered to Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, the ex Ebonyi PDP Chairman said inter-alia “this decision is the outcome of intense consultation with my supporters across Ebonyi State who have expressed growing discontent with the party.

“We feel rather strongly that the party can no longer provided a credible platform for the actualization of our collective developmental, economic as well as political aspirations”

To avoid leaving anyone guessing his next line of action, Hon. Okorie thanked the party for the opportunity given to him to have served them in the capacity of State Chairman, and boldly announced his readiness to support Governor Francis Nwifuru in APC.

He also used the opportunity to extend an invitation to all the remnants of PDP in the state to join him in APC, and support the government in power to move the State forward.

The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the able Chairmanship of Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha is very happy with the decision of Hon. Tochukwu Okorie to join the APC.

The APC Chairman therefore congratulates Hon. Okorie for his bold decision and wish to use this opportunity to assure him of a level playing ground in the party.

He enjoins Hon Tochukwu and his teeming supporters to expect a date for their official defection and reception into the party very soon.

It’s important to use this opportunity to emphasize that APC Ebonyi State is not interested in content creation and the childish clout-chasing of the opposition in the state. In no distant time, the party will welcome yet another political heavy weight from the same Old Ohaozara into the party. Content creators are however free to continue to massage their own ego.

The APC Chairman once again appeal to political actors in Ebonyi opposition to elevate collective interests of the state above personal ambitions, and come to support Governor Francis Nwifuru in APC for the greater interests of the State.
