APC Governors Endorse Tinubu For Second Term

Governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC), under the auspices of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), on Thursday, passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Tinubu.

The Forum, represented by its Chairman, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who spoke on behalf of all the Progressive Governors present at the National Summit of the APC held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja, also initiated the motion for the adoption of Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC for the 2027 general elections.

The Vice Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, was quick to join Governor Uzodimma on the podium to second the motion for the adoption of Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 poll.

Uzodimma thereafter put the motion to vote before the participants at the National Summit, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio, members of the National Assembly, serving and former governors, and APC members from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, who, in a voice vote followed by a standing ovation, adopted President Tinubu for a second term in office come 2027.

This endorsement aligns with earlier support from other APC blocs, including a recent vote of confidence from North Central governors.

The move signals growing intra-party consensus behind Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
