Two members of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, May 6, announced their resignation from the Labour Party.
The lawmakers – Dennis Agbo and Chidi Obetta – announced their defection in a letter to the leadership of the House of Representatives on the floor of the plenary.
According to the Agbo and Obetta, they would be leaving the Labour Party to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While Agbo represents Igbo-Eze North/Udenu constituency, Obetta serves as the lawmaker representing Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency, both in Enugu State.
The lawmakers’ defection comes barely hours after the National Assembly resumed plenary following its return from recess since April 27.
