The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retired), has announced that a new 2025 budget is being drafted to address key development areas, including healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Speaking on Thursday while hosting the Rivers State National Assembly caucus, led by Senator Barinada Mpigi, at Government House, Port Harcourt, Ibas said the budget will also focus on job creation and advancing technology in critical sectors.
Since assuming office, he said his priority has been restoring law and order, creating a safer environment for residents, and positioning Rivers as a model of peace and economic stability.
“Following the Supreme Court verdict on the state’s budget, we moved swiftly to put together a new appropriation bill that reflects our commitment to healthcare, education, social services, and infrastructure development,” Ibas stated.
He emphasized that the budget process has been transparent and inclusive, with a focus on timely implementation to improve citizens’ lives.
The administrator also sought the support of Rivers lawmakers in securing resources and legislative backing to ensure the success of his administration’s initiatives.
